Our Human Relationship with Nature: A Joyful Conversation
Sat. Oct. 30, 2021 10-noon
On Zoom and In-Person
“Really, my connection morphs with the landscape and its related cast of characters. I’m most at home on rivers but feel comfortable wherever one can escape the crowding of too many buildings.” ~ Margo Farnsworth
At The Resilient Activist, we think about how, why, and when we feel a deep connection to the natural world. We’ve been wondering what our felt nature sense is based on. How much comes from our culture and education vs. what our intuition and gut feelings inform us through our own experiences?
In this special Climate Conversations program, Margo and Sami will explore their own moments of awe in the natural world, as well as the concept of man (vs. woman) vs. nature vs. reciprocity. And we may just touch on how centuries of witch-hunts and witch burnings, in Europe as well as the United States, have stymied our innate abilities to learn from and interact with plants, wildlife, water, and soil – our non-human kin.
Join us to share your own powerful experiences with nature and gather with a community that gets you!
Our guest, Margo Farnsworth, is a nature writer, educator, Biomimicry Fellow, and author of “Biomimicry and Business: How Companies Are Using Nature’s Strategies to Succeed”.
